Support the Farm

As many of you know, the farm is a project of the Hudson Food Collective , a non-profit whose mission is to foster a thriving community food system. We decided to grow the Heartbeet through the HFC in order to focus on our social mandate to bring us all together over food, increase awareness around our food system and the people behind it, provide employment for young people in the area and add another positive, dynamic and wholesome community space to this town. By choosing this model, however, we are unable to access any agricultural funding (from 'la financière agricole') normally available to new farms. Thankfully, we were able to secure a good amount of start-up funds through different entities but because we are a new organization we are unable to access the loans needed to complete our infrastructure and are thus reaching out to you, our community, to help us build the farm. We are reaching out to all of you today to ask for solidarity loans or donations to help us cover the 19 500$ we need to finish our first year.

We are reaching out to all of you today to ask for solidarity loans or donations to help us cover the 19 500$ deficit we need to finish our first year wIthout debt that will negatively affect our ability to secure future grants and eventual loans. The farm managers are contributing a 3 000$ solidarity loan towards that deficit to help cover the amount.

We've attached a document below that outlines the Heartbeet further and the different levels of partnership through a 3 year solidarity interest-free loan or a donation. Beyond financial support, if you believe you can help the farm grow through organizational support, sharing ideas or spreading the word, we would deeply appreciate it!
